For GPs and practice teams

You’re often the first person they tell.
Now there’s somewhere to send them.

Doctor-led home detox and 12 months of recovery support, with the patient staying in your care. You refer in under a minute, inside the consult, while the patient is ready.

  • Refer in under a minute via ConsultMed
  • Funded routes first: private health and PHN places
  • No added admin: we handle funding checks and billing

Your reality

Fifteen minutes.
Two options.
Neither built for this patient.

Manage it alone.

Advice, counselling and a script help. But physical dependence needs supervised withdrawal, then months of structure. That doesn’t fit in a standard consult.

Refer to residential rehab.

Often $15,000 or more, and around three weeks away from work and family. It’s the referral most patients decline.

Or the moment passes.

Motivation peaks in the consult where they finally say it. A waitlist or a brochure lets it pass, and it comes back as liver results, falls, low mood, insomnia and ED visits.

The missing middle step.

Between brief intervention and a rehab bed, nothing treats dependence. That’s a gap in the system, not in general practice. It’s the gap we fill.

What referral looks like · Illustrative

The consult where the answer was finally yes.

Anna, 36, mentions at the end of a sleep consult that it’s become a bottle a night. This time there’s somewhere to send her: one referral, assessed within days, and she’s still your patient at the next visit.

Why 12 months

Detox is neither a treatment nor a cure.
The treatment is what follows.

Withdrawal management makes stopping safe. It doesn’t change why someone drinks or what happens next. With Clean Slate, detox is one week inside a 12-month program, delivered at home to any address in Australia.

Doctor-led care. Delivered at home.
  1. 1

    Preparation

    2–3 weeks

Full suitability assessment, clinical investigations, goal setting with a dedicated clinician, and a nominated support person.

  2. 2

    Detox

    1 week

Doctor-supervised withdrawal at home: daily clinician check-ins, daily dispensing at the local pharmacy, doctor review, and hospital escalation if needed.

  3. 3

    Aftercare

    11 months

Pharmacotherapy, one-to-one sessions, group work including facilitated SMART Recovery, drop-ins and monthly masterclasses. The support that makes detox hold.

Independently evaluated, routinely measured

How referral works

Structured care you can’t deliver in fifteen minutes.
No added admin.

  1. 1

    You refer

    Under 1 minute

Refer through ConsultMed or the one-page online form while motivation is live. Or hand over the QR code so the patient can check their suitability themselves.

  2. 2

    We assess

    Within days

Our clinical team runs a full suitability assessment and checks the patient’s funding. High-acuity and complex-risk patients are escalated, not enrolled.

  3. 3

    We treat and support

    12 months

Supervised home detox, then clinician-led aftercare and recovery support for the rest of the year.

  4. 4

    We keep you informed

    At every phase

An acknowledgement within 24 hours of referral. A clinic letter with the planned detox start date, an update after the detox review, relevant results, and notice of any ongoing anti-craving medication.

What GPs usually ask us

Your questions,
answered.

Is home detox safe?

Yes, for the right patients. We use robust clinical governance, a full suitability assessment, doctor-led medication, daily clinician contact and hospital escalation for anyone outside scope.

Which patients suit it?

Adults with alcohol or other drug dependence who are medically suitable for home withdrawal. High-acuity and complex-risk patients are escalated, not enrolled. You don’t need to screen them first: we assess suitability.

I don’t have time for another process.

One page, under a minute, or the patient self-refers by QR code. We handle assessment, paperwork and funding checks from there.

Will I lose the patient?

No. You stay their GP for everything else, get updates at each phase, and resume full management when the program ends.

What if my patient wants to cut down, not stop?

That’s fine. Goals can be moderation or abstinence. The patient chooses and we tailor the plan.

What does it cost my patient?

Many patients are funded through private health insurance or a PHN-commissioned place. We check this at intake. Self-pay is from $11–13 a day across the 12 months. Nothing is billed to your practice.

One ask

Refer the next patient who tells you.

You’re there when they finally say it. We make treatment the next step, at home. Refer through ConsultMed, use the online form, or hand over the QR so the patient can check their suitability. BP Premier integration coming soon.
