Is this rehab?

Rehab (short for rehabilitation) usually means checking into a residential facility for weeks, often interstate or hours from home. We do the same clinical work in your own home:
  • A full medical assessment.
  • A medicated detox overseen by your named doctor.
  • Daily nurse check ins throughout your detox.
  • Eleven months of aftercare.
You stay at home, with your family. You’ll need one trusted support person, and your local GP will need to know.
Australia-wide

Available in every state and territory

Because treatment happens where you already live, there is no catchment area and no bed to wait for. We support people in capital cities, regional centres and remote communities.
What you need
  • A local GP who knows you are on the program.
  • A local pharmacy you can get to during detox week.
  • One trusted support person at home. Reliable phone or video contact.
What you don’t need
  • Travel. Time away from work.
  • A bed in a facility.
  • A referral.
  • An absence to explain to your employer.
Funding in your area
We work with health funds nationally, and with Primary Health Networks including Western Queensland, Western NSW, Central and Eastern Sydney, South Western Sydney and South Eastern NSW. We confirm what applies to you before treatment starts. *

Residential rehab, or treatment at home

Both work. One asks you to leave your life for a while. The other is built around it.

Transition
No transition
You get through withdrawal in your own home, and there’s no discharge out of your home. For those that qualify, we believe this is the most effective place to detox.
You detox somewhere controlled, you get better somewhere controlled, and then you’re discharged — left alone, with the challenge of learning to not drink in the environment in which you drank.
What it costs
$4,200 for 12 months, or $410 a month
Around $11–$13 a day. Most major insurers with unrestricted psychiatric hospital cover fund it in full.*

Check your suitability
Free, takes two minutes. No referral needed.
This is for a wide range of people.
Whether you feel your use is mild or you're worried it has gone too far, suitability is something we work out together using clinical assessment, not something you have to judge about yourself before you start. The same clinician-led model supports alcohol, ketamine and stimulants.
If you need help right now
This page describes a planned program that starts with an assessment, so it is not immediate crisis support. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For 24-hour help, Lifeline is on 13 11 14 and the National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is on 1800 250 015 — free, and it connects you to the service in your state or territory. Please don’t stop drinking suddenly on your own; unmanaged alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous.

Over 12 months, you'll receive premium care from leading addiction clinicians in Australia.

Detox from the comfort of home

You’ll undergo a medicated detox without needing to go to a clinic. Our clients tend to require less time off from work than an in-house detox. We do we require that you inform a close friend or family member  and you local GP, but we do not require anyone else or your employer to be informed.

We’ll provide an assessment before you start the program to ensure it’s safe for you. If your appointed clinician does not consider this program safe for you, they will recommend other options.

Experienced medical supervision

From day one, you’re matched with a dedicated nurse who stays with you throughout your journey. Every detox is overseen by your named doctor, with daily nurse check‑ins to keep you safe, comfortable, and supported. Medication is managed in consultation with your doctor and dispensed through your chosen pharmacy, fully briefed in advance.

After detox, you’ll meet your doctor again to celebrate progress and plan next steps. With regular nurse contact across 11 months of aftercare, you’re never alone. You’ll have consistent medical guidance and accountability throughout your recovery journey.

Tailored & unique to you

Your journey starts with your goals; whether abstinence or moderation, we co‑design a plan that fits your life. Every detail is personalised: your health, relationships, and routines shape the care you receive. Medical checks ensure your doctor builds the safest detox plan possible, while your welcome kit equips you with supplements, a breathalyser, and a clear program guide.

With daily reflections and resources that explain addiction and recovery, your plan adapts around you; unique, evidence‑based, and designed for lasting change.

Tried & tested approach

Our approach combines gold‑standard medical practice with SMART Recovery group work, CBT‑informed tools, and whole‑person aftercare. Daily monitoring during detox and ongoing support across nine domains of life mean safer withdrawal, reduced relapse risk, and a recovery plan that’s practical, durable, and designed around you.

Affordable

Our program is available privately for just $11-$13 per day, depending on how you prefer to pay. Choose $4,200 upfront for the full 12‑month program, or spread the cost at $410 per month. Flexible payment methods, including Afterpay and PayPal, make professional medical care accessible without financial strain.

If you have Private Health Insurance with unrestricted psychiatric hospital cover, most major insurers will fully fund your placement, meaning no out‑of‑pocket cost.

Government‑funded places are also available in select Primary Health Networks (PHNs). For full details on insurers, PHNs, and payment options, visit: Our Pricing.

Reaching further

Where distance is the barrier

A model built around the home removes the obstacle that keeps most people outside the capitals from getting treatment at all.

Rural and remote Australia

For a lot of people the problem was never the treatment. It was poor access to local services.
  • No bed, no waiting list, no travel. Treatment happens in your own home, so our capacity isn’t tied to a building in a capital city.
  • Detox week needs two things most country towns already have: a GP and a pharmacy. You collect your medication locally, after your nurse checks in.
  • Daily contact is by phone or video, so there is no daily drive to a clinic.
  • Aftercare runs online every day of the week, including weekends and public holidays, so support doesn’t stop because the nearest service is hours away.
  • Government-funded places are available through regional Primary Health Networks including Western Queensland, Western NSW and South Eastern NSW.

Additional support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Alongside the standard 12-month program, we run a dedicated yarning circle. It is in addition to the aftercare every client receives, not instead of it.
Yarning at Clean Slate, powered by SMART Recovery
A weekly online yarning circle for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to share stories and learn simple, evidence-based tools to support recovery. Sessions are relaxed and conversational, focusing on the present and the week ahead, helping you set practical goals and stay supported by mob.

Each session runs for around 90 minutes and follows the same format every time, guided by the Four C’s: Country, Culture, Community and Connection. Join weekly, or whenever it suits you.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan sets out the commitments behind this work.
